For a while now I have been contemplating getting a Stage-1 tune. Whether to go Off the Shelf (OTS) or custom will come down to preference.
Based in Melbourne, and highly recommended from numerous other parties I decided to head down to UGP, for a Stage-1 ECU & TCU tune. These guys are not a 15min plugnplay, off you go bunch. My car was booked in for 2hrs, however took 5hrs to get the job done AND
they delivered, exactly what they promised. Approximately +50wkW of GAINZZZ. The car feels completely different. Shifts later in Race mode, and keeps pulling all the way to redline. Whats even better is that Stage-1 peak boost is lower than most OTS Stage-1 tunes, which means they are not just increasing to get you power. Which is better and safer on a stock block, IMO.
If you are on the fence with OTS tune or Custom (and in Melbourne), head down, you will not be disappointed.
Great work and thanks UGP. I will definitely be seeing you guys in a few weeks For Stage-2, once turbo back exhaust and intercooler is installed.

I have read some of these reviews. Some of you are kooks and serial complainers, who I wouldn't invite into my home or business. Your reviews read like the ramblings of cheapskates who are not prepared to pay the costs of maintaining vehicles, thus shouldn't own vehicles. I'll bet you've all written complaints about very workshop in Brisbane. I've been to every independent BMW workshop in south-east QLD and this one is on-par with the best of them. Some of you could stand to launch into online hate speech with less enthusiasm.

On the companies recommendation, I had the res delete pipe installed aswell and lets just say was I glad that I listened to their recommendation! It makes the Akrapovic exhaust properly sing now.

What a great service and feedback from them. They broke down the problems and how to correctly diagnose the issue, turned out to be a faulty water sensor valve. Car is back to running normal. Great people to deal with.

DPF Near Death Experience
At their core, Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) are a good idea. These cylinder-like, exhaust system devices capture the diesel’s harmful soot particles, then periodically burns them off in a high-temperature combustion process called, regeneration. If a DPF fails to regenerate (an automatic operation), it will eventually become clogged and require immediate attention.
Why you should never attempt to go beyond your Service interval
So many European cars now can go up to 30,000kms between service intervals. But does this mean we should or can we leave it that long between a technician seeing your car? Saving money in the short term does not always mean saving money in the long term.
